As a Bookseller, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring our customers have the best possible experience while browsing and purchasing books at our store.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of different genres of books and their authors, a love for reading and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with information about new releases, bestsellers or recommendations based on their reading interests.
Retrieve books from shelves for customers and help them find the books they are looking for.
Process transactions at the point of sale using a cash register or POS system.
Keep the store clean and organized by arranging books on shelves, putting them in correct order and tidying up displays.
Receive and unpack new books as they arrive and ensure they are properly displayed.
Collaborate with the rest of the team to plan and implement promotional events and activities such as book signings or readings.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new and upcoming releases.
Requirements High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for reading and knowledge of different genres and authors.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
